We, the residents Monmouth and Ocean Counties, as well as other residents from New Jersey are in favor of Bill A1850 allowing the seasonal liquor licenses to open as of March 1. The extension will provide approximately 350 employees with eight extra weeks of work. It also allows those establishments to participate in Belmar’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Six of the nine seasonal licenses are within a five mile radius of Belmar. We believe that opening all seasonal licensed establishments, rather than a few, will only assist with the estimated 60,000 attendees expected for this year. With so many people in town, Belmar and ALL of its’ establishments (restaurants, bars, retail stores, real estate agencies, etc.) have the opportunity to attract new business, engage it's residents and forge relationships that would allow Belmar and the surrounding towns to thrive. It would be doing the town in it’s entirety a disservice to not maximize such attractions. Please sign A1850 and make it become law.
