Thanks to your awareness and energy, we have more than 800 signatures already! 

I will present this petition to the mayor and city council at their public meeting Tuesday, April 12. Though there is no agenda item related to the school district issue, there is a public comment period. That is when I will share the petition. 

Come to the meeting if you can! It is at 6pm in the City Council Chambers (doors are just south of Orem Library doors). If you would like  to make a public comment, here are a couple pointers that I've learned as a frequent public commenter:

• You must sign up ahead. The signup sheet is set out as early as 30 minutes before the meeting. If the list is very long, not all people will get a chance. 
• You have 3 minutes to speak. Consider writing down your comment and timing it. If possible, speak for less time and say something that hasn't been said. That will give more people a chance for a turn. 
• Be calm and polite, even if you're furious. 
• Ask thoughtful questions for the council to consider. Give ideas of what you want them to do. Ranting feels good, but may not be effective.
