Hello everyone, I can hardly believe it's been four years since the first push to save the old college building and turn it into something for the community. The original permit to turn it into retirement flats expired so we have another chance to tell them what we think the space should be used for instead.

Do we really need even more retirement apartments in Chippenham? There were 36 retirement flats listed on Rightmove as of 14th Feb 2022, some of which have been listed for nearly 2 years. They claim that local residents moving into retirement flats empties houses for young families in Chippenham, but we have heard from a conveyancer that 80% of the apartments in one of the newer retirement developments went to people from outside the area.

There are community groups doing fantastic work in Chippenham, desperate for a permanent home! PLEASE take 5 minutes to fill out the virtual consultation on the link above and tell them what you think.
