Thank you so much to everyone who has signed, shared, and supported this petition so far. Your voices really are making a difference.
I wanted to share that this campaign was recently featured on BBC News South, helping to highlight the very real impact the 2026 funding changes will have on childminders and families across England. While the segment is no longer available on BBC iPlayer, we’ve shared a short clip on our Facebook page so supporters can still see the coverage: Link to Video
We’re also incredibly grateful for the support and work being done by PACEY, Childcare.co.uk and everyone else, who are trying hard to help raise concerns and advocate on behalf of childminders. Their involvement is amazing, but experience tells us that pressure from all sides is even stronger. Change happens when professionals, parents, the public, and the media are all pushing together.
This is why we need to keep going.
If you are a childminder, parent, or someone affected by these changes, we would really appreciate hearing what impact this will have on you, whether that’s reducing places, increasing fees, or leaving the profession altogether.
Please email your experiences to childminder-concerns@acchildminders.co.uk. With your permission, these real-life stories may be shared with MPs, journalists, and decision-makers to show the true consequences behind the headlines. Stories can be shared anonymously if preferred.
Please continue to share the petition, talk about it, and encourage others to sign. Every signature and every story strengthens the message that childminders are essential and that these cuts risk pushing many of us out of the profession.
Thank you again for standing with us and helping to protect the future of childcare.
Together, we keep pushing.
