I want to add a small but important clarification that aligns with the overall goal of fairness in this petition:

In true 50/50 situations, there should be no ongoing child support obligation, because both parents are already providing equally for the children in their own homes. In those cases, parents are each covering housing, food, utilities, transportation, and daily needs directly.

This reflects a basic principle of fairness: when both parents are contributing equally, the system should not impose additional payments that do not reflect the actual costs being shared.

I will be meeting with a legislative representative next week to discuss the issues raised in this petition and to share the concerns that families have expressed. Additional signatures and shares help demonstrate that this is an issue affecting many families, not just a few individuals.
