I have spoken with Councillor Mareeta Grundy from the QPRC, who is supportive of this initiative. 

This road is owned by the State Government (being a highway) and QPRC may have little if any influence over this proposal, however Councillor Grundy assured me she would assist in facilitating conversations with the relevant authorities to keep this moving forward. 

My goal is 2000 signatures before presenting to the Federal Member for Eden-Monaro, the NSW Member for Roads, and the NSW State Premier.
