UNFAIR STAFF PARKING INCREASES
The GMB Union, the Union for all Healthcare Workers fully agree with our members and ESHT staff that the ill-conceived enforced staff Car parking charge increases hard pressed ESHT staff now find themselves having to fund following a disappointing NHS pay rise, are unfair!
In light of current NHS pay deal which for many has meant that a promised 6.5% or better pay increase over 3 years has not materialised to date has seen the majority of ESHT staff see pay awards significantly less than promised by NHS employers and Tory government.
The GMB therefore in light of this issue and misinformation are calling upon ESHT to halt and reverse the implementation of increases to staff parking charges, which will see part time rate and Band 1 and 2 increases over 2 years of around 66% and that of 100% increase over the same time scale for all other staff working in the Trust as they are unfair and unreasonable in light of current reduced pay increase of the majority trust staff after the recent pay award.
The GMB further call on the trust to provide full disclosure of the breakdown of the current staff parking revenue and how that money is spent along with how any eventual agreed cost rise might eventually find its way into improving staff parking facility’s on Trust premises at this time.
GMB THEREFORE PETITION AND COUNTER PROPOSE TO EAST SUSSEX HEALTHCARE TRUST :
- An agreed nominal fixed rate increase for 3 years
- Further agreed concessions for disabled staff
- Guarantees that increase incoming generated from car parking to be used solely for car parking improvements.
