The People’s Union for Civil Liberties has condemned the State government for invoking the Goondas Act against Thirumurugan Gandhi of the May 17 Movement and three others. The detention of the four under the Goondas Act was a violation of human rights, PUCL activists said at a press conference here on Friday. K. Sudhir, president, PUCL, said the detention of these four for attempting to hold a candle light vigil under the Goondas Act was violation of human rights.
