Thirumurugan singled out for dissenting against demonetisation

Activist Thirumurugan gandhi , coordinator of May17 movement has been charged with criminal charges for dissenting against the infamous demonetisation move introduced last year. The demonetisation of Indian currency of higher value recieved huge flak from reputed economists like kenneth rogoff, Amartya sen , prabat patnaik etc Forbes magazine dubbed the move as a theft of private property . Hundreds of civilian casualties were reported . The numbers of the devalued currency returned to the Reserve Bank of India is yet to be disclosed. The criminal charges have shocked the civil society and police administration is apparently engaged in a lawfare to intimidate dissenting activists said many political observers from chennai. The activists were brought to the Egmore court and later taken back to the puzhal central prison.
