There has been an effort from vested interests to ban GOA TAXI REVOLUTION and current situation is worse than during Portuguese occupation, we need as much support as possible to revive our democracy, an opinion poll can be considered on this issue if necessary. We need to find a solution with EVERYONE'S best interests, including Goan Taxi drivers, Goykarponn and this requires own Taxi app. This has been promised by Government few years ago and it seems like a never ending project. Goan public should be informed how much has been spent on it so far and when it would be completed. There seems to be no clear cut direction and we we ask them to come back to us with one voice so as not to confuse the public. Please see news items from previous update: 1. Again, we want to keep EVERYONE happy and if system is delayed it is a lost opportunity. STAKEHODLERS: People of Goa have realized that this is the most important issue for them. 1) local population, 2) Occasional visitors from India and abroad like me, 3) Tourists - OUR customers, 4) Goan businesses like shops, hotels, tourist attractions We know that everyone across the world is getting used to the convenience of using latest gadgets with digital revolution, improving quality of life day by day but the government is taking us backwards. Also other stakeholder vested interests against, 5) Politicians with their vote bank, 6) Goa Administration get illegal Hapta and Hotels get illegal commission 7) Drug dealers and prostitution connected to taxi business These stakeholders are trying to stop the Taxi Revolution, easy way to fool people is "suggest" to make own app. OUR ACTION PLAN: There is no harm in creating our requirement specs with a preliminary list. Anyone can add to this spec by way of comments. Comments should include word REQUIRE so we can spot it, we will finalize and close by Monday 8-May 10AM IST and send requirement list and developers to the CM Manoharbhai. Rikshaw/Motorcycle/Tourist Taxi will be handled in subsequent phases) The Taxi App ideally should be able to do below based on OLA/UBER features currently available. This is a high level starter list, developer finally chosen will fine tune it. STAGE 1: CHOOSING THE TAXI: 1) 24 hr availability as a cloud based service 2) Smartphone based. (everything done automatically, no person involved) 3) Enter destination address with No of passengers - get estimated pricing 4) App matches rider with nearby taxi driver with good rating. 5) After matching App shows name /cell of driver and how long to reach rider. 6) Option to call driver cell directly with single click, without reentering number. 7) Option to share the Taxi. (may be costly) 8) After driver arrives, and rider gets into car the meter starts (app meter track by GPS) STAGE 2: THE TRIP: 1) GPS App calculates the best route based on current traffic using open source maps 2) Trip route visible to driver and passenger 3) Safe Tracking of taxi through central monitoring - save trip history STAGE 3: END OF TRIP: 1) Driver end trip when destination is reached 2) Digital receipt is created with Tax calculation and route shown 3) Passenger automatically gets charged - Payment by Cashless - PayTm or credit card 4) Rate the driver of trip experience, driver rates passenger STAGE 4: OTHER: 1) Every day (or week) paycheck is deposited to driver's account 2) Quarterly Paycheck to govt for taxes collected (adjust as needed) PHASE 2- Rikshaw & Motorcycle. Same app possibly with a percentage factor like for e.g. Rikshaw - 50% of taxi fare, Motorcycle - 30% of taxi fare. PHASE 3 - Tourist Taxi. This may need have its own calculation like hotel commissions and need to be considered if needed. ================================================= So our next checkpoint is submit the preliminary list of requirements to Manoharbhai along with potential developers. Hopefully Govt decides on a local app with a particular vendor or based on this Govt may be in a position to negotiate better deal with OLA/UBER with better conditions like hire Goan drivers only. Then its up to Manoharbhai to get back to public with a response. Please note we will need continued support with signatures from entire population of Goa, in and out of Goa and keep the deliberations at all times to keep the movement alive. Just 5 minutes spent here will save you years of lost time in future, may justify an opinion poll if needed and keep the pressure.
