I am so proud to announce that the Indian mascot at Cheyenne Mountain High School has officially been retired. Thank you to everybody who signed/shared the petition, wrote emails to the BOE, contacted tribal nations and organizations across the country and showed up to school board meetings. Most importantly, huge shout out to the Indigenous community of Colorado Springs who have been fighting this battle for decades. I am hopeful that this long-overdue change will spark more conversations and action at Cheyenne Mountain High School.
