In Jeopardy: the Haring Homestead located in Chestnut Ridge, NY on 606 S. Pascack Road, site of the current Jade Village Restaurant.
 

Due to "Home Rule," (NYS General Municipal Law Section 96-a, Section 119aa-119dd,) Chestnut Ridge Village needs to pass a law now to preserve and protect the Haring Homestead before it's demolished for a housing development. Other Rockland County towns and villages, including Orangetown, Clarkstown, and Montebello have similar laws.
