The area around West Park is used heavily by people on foot. This includes:  

• Children and families walking to the park 
• Older and vulnerable people walking to the hospital or surrounding care homes / retirement homes 
• Families walking to the crematorium and cutting through to join the River Bollin walk
• People walking into town along Prestbury Road 

Despite all this heavy usage there are very few pedestrian crossings. And many cars far exceed the speed limit trying to get through the roundabouts. 

This makes it a dangerous place to walk despite so many people needing or wanting to. 

This petition is to show the council that there is demand for speed restrictions (20) around the park / hospital area and to start the work of making this part of town safer.
