The Government plans to increase the amount riding schools pay in business rates.  This increase may be much more than other local businesses and could result in many riding schools facing closure due to rising costs.  Riding is a sport for all ages, including special needs and disabled children.  Closure of these local amenities will result in a huge loss to the country as a whole.  The Government seeks to encourage exercise and sport which makes this action contradictory.
