Urging City Council To Halt 5G in Charlotte
We urge City Council to halt the rollout of 5G in Charlotte until further research is conducted.
As elected officials we count on you all to be fair, neutral and in the best interest of the people that you represent. As concerned residents of the city of Charlotte, we urge city council to examine all sides of the 5G issue before pushing to make Charlotte "the first in the world" to roll out this technology. We do not believe that all sides are being shared regarding this issue and currently feel there is a conflict of interest, which means this issue is not being presented fairly to the community. We believe only the positives are being shared. Each member of City Council needs to do their own research and not rely on one voice to share biased, one-sided information.
Some cities are halting this as there is NO research on the impacts of 5G on health. Below, you have over 100 pages from sources such as Harvard, American Academy of Pediatrics and Columbia University citing the DANGERS of wireless radiation on our most vulnerable people- the CHILDREN of our city. Studies do not exist regarding 5G's impact on health and the environment.
Instead of going with "let Charlotte be the first in the world", question WHY other places DO NOT want to be the first in the world to roll this out. It is very clear there is NO research on 5G and the health implications. We did not elect you all to make us the guinea pigs for the world.

Here’s over 100 pages of letters from physicians and scientists about the health effects of wireless radiation on children. To name a few of the sources, American Academy of Pediatrics, Harvard Medical School, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Environmental Health Trust, The Executive Committee of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, etc. These are reputable sources raising serious concerns.
5G Halted In Brussels:
“I cannot welcome such technology if the radiation standards, which must protect the citizen, are not respected, 5G or not. The people of Brussels are not guinea pigs whose health I can sell at a profit. We cannot leave anything to doubt.”

5G was brought before the senate: Senator Blumenthal shared:
“If you go to the FDA website, there basically is a cursory and superficial citation to existing scientific data saying ‘The FDA has urged the cell phone industry to take a number of steps, including support additional research on possible biological effects of radio frequency fields for the type of signals emitted by cell phones.’ I believe that Americans deserve to know what the health effects are, not to pre-judge what scientific studies may show, and they also deserve a commitment to do the research on outstanding questions,” said Blumenthal. “So my question for you: How much money has the industry committed to supporting additional independent research—I stress independent—research? Is that independent research ongoing? Has any been completed? Where can consumers look for it? And we’re talking about research on the biological effects of this new technology.”
At the end of the exchange, Blumenthal concluded, “So there really is no research ongoing. We’re kind of flying blind here, as far as health and safety is concerned.”
