Dear Governor Baker,

We would like you to put money in the budget to help Massachusetts animal shelters. We would like the money to go towards animal cruelty. The MSPCA takes in animals that have been abused or abandoned. The MSPCA also takes care of the animals and makes them better after they take them in. We would like other shelters to do the same. The state could get the money from taxes on pet products. We would like the taxes to go up 0.25% on all the pet products that are bought in stores. For the sake of animals, please add this money to the budget. Animals should be treated just like humans and animals help us a lot, so we should do the same for them.
