Thank you for supporting this petition. It now has nearly 1700 signatures. Tomorrow, it will go to Charles Horton so that on strike day on Wednesday, he can’t tell himself no-one wants the guard on the train. Let's see how many signatures we can get on its last day... WHAT YOU CAN DO · Can you find anyone else to invite to sign it? You could email it to friends, tweet it, share on Facebook, or post a link in groups you use. · Write to your MP and remind them why safety-critical staff are important to you. · If you are in London, guards will be holding a demonstration outside the Department for Transport Rail Industry Day 2016 this Wednesday, 18th May, at 08.30am, at the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre near Central Hall Westminster (SW1P 3EE). Striking guards will gather outside to put their case. Please come along and tell the company you too want a guard on the train. · If the company is passing around leaflets at your station telling people guards are unnecessary, please tell them what you think. · There is another petition doing the rounds now. Ours is addressed to Charles Horton, the new one is addressed to MPs, calling for the ending of GTR’s franchise. Please sign that one as well. Good luck!
