“The women have gone crazy on me” says Redfoo - Channel 7 urged to respond

With this petition set to reach 20000 signatures today, you may have heard that Redfoo has ’apologised’ via his Facebook page. He didn’t apologise for his actions in producing, co-writing and performing #literallyicant, or for the way in which he has insulted women. No, he apologised “if he had offended” anyone. Today he’s back on the defence stating in an interview with 2dayfm “the women have gone crazy on me.”
Redfoo stated:
“The women have gone crazy on me,” he said. “We’re just trying to make a fun song, a party song — having fun ... I don’t know how ‘rape culture’ and ‘Redfoo’ got into the same headline.”
“I have kids from everywhere, not just Australia, and they want to be like Redfoo. They love Redfoo and I love them. I love the families, I love everybody.” http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/music/redfoo-takes-to-radio-in-a-14minute-rant-on-his-controversial-song-bloggers-and-crazy-women/story-e6frfn09-1227122932481
How can he possibly reconcile a song that celebrates rape culture, ridiculing, harassing and verbally assaulting women who refuse men’s demands, with loving women and children?
As I said to news.com.au yesterday, if Redfoo really respected women he wouldn’t have created a video and song which show the exact opposite. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/music/redfoo-in-x-factor-backlash-as-petition-calls-for-channel-7-to-let-judge-go/story-e6frfn09-1227121436240
Redfoo has claimed he has been victimised, yet he has demonstrated no empathy for the real victims of abuse, which in Australia, sees 1 in 3 women experience domestic or sexual abuse.
This is too important to write off as an issue of ‘personal taste.’ As Melinda Tankard Reist wrote today on www.collectiveshout.org :
“This is about acknowledging and owning the creation of a powerful message that women’s bodies exist for male gratification and pleasure, and that any woman who defies a man’s demands is to be harassed and worn down until she gives in, and that she is to be turned into porn in the process (A few of us are wondering how much RedTube paid for the product placement).”
There is an epidemic of violence against women in Australia which is fuelled by these harmful messages . Channel 7 does not need to wait until White Ribbon Day on November 25 to speak out about violence against women - there is an opportunity to do this right now.
We’re not giving up - we must continue to call on Channel 7 and the X Factor to cut ties.

PS. Redfoo has repeated a number of times that he doesn't use the word 'slut' in the song. We have asked for clarification but haven't received a response. https://twitter.com/CollectiveShout/status/532053673237831680
