Friends of Trails at Ragged Mountain,
Over 1200 of you have signed our petition to restore shared use at Ragged Mountain Reservoir. Please continue to share this petition throughout our outdoor recreation community. Some of you have called or written to your Board of Supervisors or City Council. About 45 of you attended our Zoom meeting on Sunday, and 30 or 40 came to our social on Monday.
So, where are we at in our fight to restore running and biking at Ragged Mountain Reservoir? And what, if anything, can you personally do to help?
The Board of Supervisors has put this issue on their agenda for the April 3 Board of Supervisors Meeting to discuss and decide if they should consider changes to the code. There are 6 Supervisors, and it will take 4 of them to vote to change the code to allow healthy outdoor activities like biking and running that do not harm water quality. At this point of information gathering, and discussions with our elected officials. We may be one vote short. This one vote will decide if you and I, our children, our High School Mountain bikers, our lady’s group, beginners, and all the hundreds of trail runners get to enjoy healthy outdoor activities on the trails we built at Ragged Mountain Reservoir for future generations.
Here’s what you can do.
Commit to attend a Board of Supervisors meeting.

Use this link to sign up to attend one or more of the listed BoS meetings, and especially sign up to attend the April 3 meeting. At that meeting, sign up to speak, especially if you are a County resident.
Make sure your voice is heard. We need Ragged Mountain Reservoir trails for all our friends, families, and neighbors.
And finally, if you live in the County and if you haven’t yet called or written to your Supervisors, please do so. And if you live in the City, call or write City Council. See the attached Talking Points in the previous Petition Update.
Thanks for all you do to support shared-use trails and healthy outdoor activities in our area.
We are proud to have such a wonderful trail community.
