The petition is now getting close to 2,000 and we hope that the #I Can't Keep Quiet Flashmob on Saturday will help get us those additional siganatures. If you'd like to join the Flashmob, here's what's happening: At http://icantkeepquiet.org/song you will find demo recordings, lyrics and sheet music all downloadable for free. It’s also on youtube! THE PLAN: This is the way we want to do our version: Sing the song through once, then repeat. On the 2nd sing through we will do it as performed in this video (link below) and then silently hold up our #ICan'tKeepQuiet/OneWoman Riot signs. We are meeting in the basement of Promenade Methodist Church at 12 noon for final organisation and rehearsal. Please enter Prom Church through the main doors, then go down the stairs to the right. At Prom we will be divided into 2 groups and move to the 2 locations. The 2 locations are outside M&S and outside Strand shopping centre. We will have 2 small groups of strong singers/musicians with instruments to start the flashmob by singing the part MILCK sings solo see link), then the rest of us join in from “If I don’t say something...” (and put on our hats and emerge from the crowd). From then on, if the “lead group” sings MILCK’s part and the rest of us take the crowd’s lines. We hope to have Meraki choir taking the lead at M&S and other musicians with guitars etc taking the lead outside Strand. If you do have a guitar or other instrument, please bring it! We will finalise who the lead musicians are when we meet at Promenade Church, and if there are more musicians/guitars then expected, then some of those with guitars can also emerge from the crowd and move up to join Meraki/the others as the song progresses – which could look GREAT! There is another event outside Isle of Man Bank, which may limit the numbers we can have at M&S – we will check the area prior to 12 and make the decision on how many are mobbing at each location Remember: we are not allowed to obstruct shoppers or block Strand Street, we must keep to the side. We are also only allowed on the LYRICS: Child friendly version please – these can be found at http://icantkeepquiet.org/song and we will have some printed off for distribution. Hopefully have sheet music available too. But if you can print and bring your own (or learn the song by heart beforehand), please do. HATS, SIGNS, T-SHIRTS: We will have some spare hats and #ICan’tKeepQuiet signs to distribute at Promenade, but please if you have your own or can make your own, please do! If you want to make “One Woman Riot” T-shirts, or #ICantKeepQuiet T shirts please go ahead! You can have a sign on your hat/round your neck – be creative! But we also want plenty of signs that can be held up at the end as in the video. We will have some small flyers to hand out to anyone interested which will explain what we are doing & include the link to this Petition. THE WEATHER: We were getting a bit worried about the weather but at the moment the forecast for Saturday isn't bad. But if you have any pink or purple umbrellas, please bring just in case! We would like to go ahead whatever the weather and a load of pink/purple umbrellas and pink/purple raincoats could ensure we have a good visual impact even in the rain. AND FINALLY… We’re hoping some MHK’s/MLC will attend – including possibly Minister Bill Malarkey. We’ve also had a second message from MILCK herself wishing us well and thanking us for taking part& using her song. We’re hoping for a great event that will be well-supported by the Manx public who have really got behind this Petition and we also hope it will be covered favourably by the media who so far have also been very sympathetic to the cause. Let’s make it big, effective, fun and family-friendly. And above all, sing out LOUD – We Can’t Keep Quiet!!
