As a lifelong Anaheim Ducks fan, it's been a thrilling journey to see the team grow and evolve. However, one part of our identity that remains tied to the past is our mascot, Wild Wing. While Wild Wing has been an iconic figure, it continues to be a remnant of our Disney origins. To be recognized as a true sports entity rather than just a team with Disney roots, it's time for a change that reflects both our independence and our community.

At the same time our beloved baseball team, The Angels, is one of only three Major League teams without an official mascot. The closest thing the Angels have to mascot is the Rally Monkey which is only a video clip and therefore cannot interact with fans during games or other events.

Enter Orange Angel Duck—a mascot fitting for our Orange County fan base, given his vibrant orange hue. Orange Angel Duck isn't just a mascot; he's a symbol derived from local culture and history. This character played a significant role in the book "Orange Angel Duck," where he heroically defended Orange County against evil to preserve freedom. This includes his heroic actions at John Wayne Airport, The Anaheim Regional Transit Intermodal Center, Platinum Triangle, Tustin Blimp Hangar, and Newport Beach.

His orange color ties perfectly with our beloved Orange County, and the character is a duck that looks like an angel with a halo birthmark to boot. This dual identity strengthens community ties and builds a bridge between local sports enthusiasts. It is time that both the Angel and Duck organizations cooperate to bring a united sports fan experience to Orange County. A shared mascot that serves both teams would be the perfect catalyst to bring both organizations together for the benefit of their common fan base. 

Transitioning to Orange Angel Duck as our mascot is more than just a superficial change. It's a statement of our roots and our independence. It's a way to embrace the community of Southern California that supports their teams so passionately. In captivating the spirit of this unique location, Orange Angel Duck can become an icon that represents not just a team, but also a region, capturing the hearts and imagination of fans, both old and new.
