Hello everyone,
Wow! I am thrilled to announce that our petition has officially passed 50 signatures! Thank you all so much for your incredible support. This is a fantastic milestone that proves what we already knew: the demand for better internet in our neighborhoods is strong, and our collective voice is powerful.
Your signature has already helped us take the next crucial step. I have used the momentum from these first 50 signatures to formally contact a list of key decision-makers at both the City of San Francisco and within Sonic's leadership. I want to be transparent about who we're talking to and why.
I have sent our community's request directly to:
- Joel Engardio, our District 4 Supervisor, and his key staff.
- Dane Jasper, the CEO of Sonic.
- The Directors of SF Public Works, the Department of Building Inspection, and the Department of Technology.
Our message to them was clear: Our community is organized, the demand is real, and we need them to work together to find a real solution for these coverage gaps.
Now, we need to build on this momentum.
Here’s how you can help us turn 50 signatures into 100 and keep the pressure on:
Our Action Items:
- Share the Petition: This is the most powerful thing you can do right now. Please share the link to this petition with your friends, family, and neighbors. Post it on Nextdoor, Facebook, or send it in a text message or email. Every share brings new supporters.
- Talk to Your Neighbors: Mention this petition to a couple of neighbors on your block. A personal request is incredibly effective, and many people are frustrated with their internet but don't know what to do about it.
Thank you again for being a part of this. Every signature is a vital part of this campaign. Together, we can show that our neighborhoods will not be left behind in the digital divide.
Let's keep fighting!
Sincerely,
Alexandria Brown
