Hamza Shah started this petition to The world's platform for change Change.org and

Recognizes: Maria Ruiz calling for YouTube to remove pewdiepie from YouTube because of harmless joke that went out of hand because of WSJ portraying pewdiepie as a nazi fascist.

Actions that need to be taken: Maria Ruiz should be removed off of change.org for personal attacks against pewdiepie to remove his main source of income (YouTube) because of jokes; furthermore, she should be held accountable for any lost sponsorships, and loss of income that may have occurred because of her defaming, flamey, and slanderous petition.

Pewdiepie is the number 1 most subscribed YouTube channel so far. He has changed peoples lives for the better. He has had a huge role in the creation of memes, meme reviews, Dr. Phil, and just general hilarious content. Pewdiepie has built YouTube from the bottom to the top. Pewdiepie’s content is what made YouTube a mainstream platform for others to watch and upload.

The Change?: Keeping Pewdiepie’s channel will keep the Youtube employees happy, the community, and the Youtubers/Audience happy. Removing Maria Ruiz from change.org will send a message to anyone who makes petitions to ruin other people’s lives for making offensive jokes to think twice, and to save them from a lawsuit. Maria Ruiz uses a horrible event (The ChristChurch shooting) and used it to blame pewdiepie. That shouldn’t be on change.org, and as a Muslim myself, I don’t agree with her AT ALL. Just because the shooter said “subscribe to pewdiepie” doesn’t mean that pewdiepie caused it, supported it, or endorsed it in any way. That’s like blaming a pencil for a misspelled word.

Maria Ruiz should make a public apology, and should recognize pewdiepie as a creator who is not racist, not antisemitic, and not islamophobic.
