Change Child Custody Law in Illinois
Change Child Custody Law in Illinois
The Issue
Child visitation laws in Illinois fail to provide adequate protection for Non-custodial parents. These laws are clouded by unclear rules which give a petitioner and / or custodial parent sweeping authority to deny the rights of a respondent and/or non-custodial Parent. These laws must be re-examined by our State Legislature. The signers of this petition implore the Illinois state legislature consider the rights of Non-Custodial Parents and the well being of the family structre. We beseech you to pass up-dated modern family laws which fairly included both parents in the legal process, even if one parent chooses to represent themselves Pro Se. We also beg the legislature to prohibit the ability of a spouse to have another parent relinquish child custody without constant legal oversight by court authority
