This week, Chancellor Kent Syverud sent an email to the students, faculty, and staff of Syracuse University. He described how the institution we love is "built upon a deep sense of an inclusive community," with  "a commitment to open and respectful dialogue, dedication to academic freedom and the search for truth, and a promise to include all voices [and] to listen to all viewpoints."

Yet SU has a history of systemic doggy discrimination: the percentage of pooches on campus is less than 1%. That needs to change. Man's best friend deserves a shot at higher education, just like the rest of us. Join me, and let's make a difference together.
