Fix the date of age reckoning for CGL Examination 2015 as January 1, 2015
Fix the date of age reckoning for CGL Examination 2015 as January 1, 2015
The Issue
This petition is made to bring into your notice, the gross injustice looming large for Lakhs of genuine students/Govt. Job Aspirants through SSC CGL-2015 Exam. (Scheduled to be notified on 2nd May, 2015).
Staff Selection Commission is a body under the Central government that conducts examinations to various subordinate posts within Government of India's various departments. The exams are conducted annually. Every year SSC publishes the Notification for Combined Graduate Level Exam(CGLE) by the first half of year and conducts the Tier-I of exam in 1st half itself. The same schedule was supposed to be followed by SSC for CGLE-2015 with crucial date for age limit reckoning to be considered from 1January, 2015 as per DoPT guidelines and the same was published in its Original Examination Calendar for the year 2015.
However due to lack of precautionary measures by SSC, incidents like paper leak of CGL-2013, CHSL-2014 exam paper leak, subsequent cancellation and reexamination of these exams, various court cases against SSC etc took place.
Due to these, the whole processing of CGL-2015 exam got delayed. Subsequently in its revised exam calendar for 2015 SSC pushed the exam of CGL-2015 (Tier-1) in second half of the year 2015 which has rendered thousands of students ineligible (due to Overage) because according to the DOPT guidelines, now the crucial date for age limit reckoning would be considered 1August, 2015. This makes the situation of many government job aspirants very precarious as it makes thousands of students of all categories born between 1st January and 31st July with one last Chance remaining in normal circumstances - ineligible to appear in the CGL 2015 Exam.
The whole delay by SSC if not intervened timely by you will rob the genuine candidates of their one last chance to appear in Combined Graduate Level exam and secure a chance to serve with the government. Also the situation with respect to unemployed youth in the country is not seeming any better as the days pass. And If this is the treatment met out to the common youth by the Government, it will only result in increased unemployment and disillusionment among youth in our country.
So we request you to help make our voice be heard to all the authorities concerned including the Chairman, SSC, Minister for Human Resource Development, Minister of State for Personnel and Public grievances who in turn reports to the Hon. Prime Minister of India- to look into the matter seriously & intervene to help thousands of students in getting their dreams realized.
