Cyfair has implemented a “clear backpack” policy for grades 6-12. This does not make the students feel safe. If they want change, they need to get right to the root of the problem and doing MANDATORY metal detector searches. The metal detectors were not put to use until problems started surfacing in the district. Students are still terrified for their lives. Not only is the clear backpack concept a invasion of privacy, but it does not promise the student’s safety at school.
