Our BB&T bank has been in our community since 1960. It is a critical and vital part of our community. Our BB&T bank services Vass and all other surrounding Towns and communities.  

During the Vass town hall meeting, on August 13, 2018, the closing of BB&T bank in Vass was discussed. BB&T has been a part of our community since around 1960. The Town Board of Commissioners is drafting a letter to send to the corporate office asking them to please reconsider and not to close this location. 

However, this one letter may not be enough for BB&T corporate offices to reconsider. By starting this petition, we, members of this community, can show our want and need for our BB&T bank to stay open in our Town.

The town is growing with new subdivisions and there is the recent revitalization in the growth of businesses which is why there is a need for OUR BB&T bank here, now more than ever. Projected growth of the town is proposed to increase 30% in the upcoming year or so. There are plans in the works for sewer and water infrastructures to be fixed in the near future which will benefit the Town and businesses, to include BB&T.

BB&T has always been there to support local events, schools, organizations, fundraisers etc. There are lots of residents, businesses, and different LOCAL organizations that Bank with BB&T. The people who work at the bank are like family. They are people that we trust and have come to rely on with financial business matters that are important life decisions such as buying a house, car, planning for retirement, or getting loans. They are who we turn to for sound financial guidance and advice...

The mentioned proposed closing date of BB&T would be in November according to the Town Board of Commissioners.
