Yesterday saw several more CEOs resign from Trump's manufacturing council. And as the bad PR mounted on crawlers at the bottom of TV news channels, 45 finally pulled the plug himself by declaring that he was immediately dissolving the two advisory groups altogether. This was a thinly veiled attempt to make it look like the decision was ever up to him--CEO's on another council not covered by our petition had already held a phone call amongst themselves to quit collectively. Press reports afterward said each member of that group spoke in turn on the conference call, and they used phrases like "tripwire" and "point of no return" to express their disgust with Trump.
With the dissolution of the councils, our petition is now moot, but we got over 50 signatures in just 3 days. And according to Change.org, only 15% of online petitions ever make it even that far. So once again thank you everyone for signing, for sharing and most of all for speaking up against Trump's attack on an African-American CEO who dared take a stand against intolerance!!
