Off to the Phanar!

Friends, the petition has met with greater success than we ever expected. According to change.org, the Secretariat has been receiving regular updates of its progress; with the 916 signatures that it had a few hours ago, it was sent to be placed in the hands of the Ecumenical Patriarch for consideration. Signatures come from five continents, women, men, laity, and clergy, and support is still growing. We were going to close it tonight, but so many people are leaving thoughtful and supportive comments that it would be a kind of grace to have the conversation continue.
