On 2nd june 2016, midnight my father Shashidhar Venugopal a social activist from Bangalore, Karnataka was arrested in the most dramatic, inhuman and in my opinion illegal way. 30 policemen who arrived in cars and tempos jumped over the compound and took him into custody and he is in jail ever since. 

Reason - SUPPORTING OPPRESSED LOWER CADRE POLICEMEN OF THE STATE OF KARNATAKA FOR LIVING A BETTER LIFE.

He has been charged with the draconian section of SEDITION (124A) along with a few other cases. All possible tactics are being used by the people in power to make sure that the bail is not granted to him. We, the family are being subjected to continuous threats and harassments by the system.

IS VOICING/ STANDING UP AGAINST INJUSTICE AN ANTINATIONAL ACT?  

Please note that the cause that he had been fighting for (better living conditions, respect and salary ) was supported by the whole state and have been taken care of by the government which depicts that the demands were not unreasonable or antinational !

Humble request to the Government of India (Narendra Modi Ji - Respected Prime Minister of India), People of Republic of India and the lawmakers to look into this case and decide whether this tag given to him of being an 'ANTINATIONAL' and having him detained for more than a month now for no fault of him justified?

Please help us in making the Government of Karnataka realise that section 124A against my father is totally uncalled for and inappropriate.
