Hello everyone and happy new year! I am still trying to come up for air with competing work priorities.... but this initiative is still very much top of mind and I have no intent on stopping this push.
It's been emotionally heavy in the news lately, and regardless of what stance someone may have, it's still heavy and a lot to absorb. I have hit a wall with all news agencies, which is understandable. There's so much to report on, that this initiative is not getting attention. And that's ok. I am optimistic that if I keep a steady drip of interest, it will get it's time :)
One quick update that I think is notable. Tomorrow, Jan 12th at MiMi's cafe at 6 PM, Betty Lieu is speaking and holding Q&A session. Betty is the 2026 District 5 Candidate. She is also one of the individuals who responded via email to me when I raised this as a concern to all District Members. Her reply specifically mentioned that the use of Round-Up would stop immediately until a safer solution was found. I am going to do my best to attend - sharing here in case any of you are able to attend or have interest. I submitted a question on the RSVP document, so I hope it's addressed at the meeting tomorrow. See below for details:
