Today I received a called from Hon. Mike Farnsworths office to let me know that our meeting, scheduled for July 12th, had been cancelled. His assistant directed me to city counselman Greg Pollock stating that the Port Coquitlam City Counsel will be speaking directly to the Provincial Housing Minister, Hon. Ravi Kahlon, regarding matters at 3235 Flint Street as new information has been added to the growing concerns.

I have reached out to Gregs office to discuss a meeting and I am waiting to hear back with respect to a date and time.

Atira has recently relocated the current building manager to a new property in Surrey for undisclosed reasons; however, this action alone may not suffice. It is imperative for Atira to be relieved of its housing contract, and essential safety measures, including CCTV surveillance, must be implemented at a minimum to ensure the security and well-being of the mothers and children residing in this building.

As this matter has been redirected to the city of Port Coquitlam, it affords us additional time to gather further community and neighbours signatures in bolstering this cause. Your help in sharing this petition will mean a change for our community and the residents that were meant to feel safe in their new home at 3235 Flint Street.
