Cheap bikes - Help required
Its been a long time since I've been in touch, apologies. Hopefully this will be of interest to you and your colleagues even if you have moved on.
This is the Workride program.
Work Ride allows you to buy a bike to commute to work tax free, effectively anywhere from 32% to 63% off.
Right now is the perfect time to stop driving to work with fuel costs through the roof, a dry winter predicted and cycleways coming together. Save money, keep fitter, reduce pollution.
The problem is that Te Whatu Ora has not committed to the scheme, this is where you come in.
Please send an email to Dale Bramley (dale.bramley@tewhatuora.govt.nz) and the Executive Leadership Team (LET) (askelt@tewhatuora.govt.nz) requesting Te Whatu Ora supports Work Ride and suggesting Waitaha Canterbury becomes a pilot site for the scheme. We have the perfect bike free region - look at how many bikes there are on campus already.
Please pass this on to your car based colleagues, the more emails the better.
Do us all a favour and just do it.

As an employee of Te Whatu Ora I would like to be able to use the Workride scheme to reduce my fuel costs, improve my fitness, reduce road congestion/pollution and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Please prioritise this scheme at this difficult time for employees.
Waitaha Canterbury is the perfect pilot site with an ideal flat and dry (mostly) environment with a strong cycling culture.
Thanks
