A small step for bikers and scooters
There has been some progress ........at last. The rumour is that resource consent for bike parking under Waipapa will get signed off, this is the first step to getting the area turned into a bike/scooter park (its only taken about 18 months!!). Now CDHB has to apply for building consent to modify the area, this will cost money as will installation of racks and any work required to ensure the area complies with the necessary regulations.
So a business case has to put to the Facilities group to justify spending the money, reducing emissions and increasing health are not adequate reasons. In the end the business case will probably go to the CEO for a decision.
In my view a show of support for the business case would be a good way to highlight how many of us support this no brainer. I will let you know when to email the CEO in support of the new bike/scooter park.
