Bike news

Ok I could say there's none, but that's not entirely true.

Bikes keep being stolen from non secured areas - some this weekend so get a good lock and use secure areas if there's room.

I "Asked Peter" our new CEO to ensure he was aware of our poor facilities especially in light of the piece in the CEO newsletter 27.4.21 "Coming together for a healthy commute" https://www.cdhb.health.nz/wp-content/uploads/00c55f01-canterbury-dhb-ceo-update-tuesday-27-april-2021.pdf - no mention of barriers such as lack of bike parking though!!

The City Council has been helpful in providing information about what will be required to get consent for the undercroft to be converted to a bike/scooter parking facility.

Things move very slowly in CDHB but I have now been told that work can begin to price up the cost of converting one of the undercroft areas to secure bike parking.  Of course this does not in any way guarantee that any work can/will actually occur so keep reminding those with influence to lobby on our behalf.  Maybe "Ask Peter" yourself about plans for better bike/scooter parking - email AskPeter@cdhb.health.nz
