A Vending Machine for Sexual Health and Wellness at Coastal Carolina University

Coastal Carolina University's student body requests that all students have equitable access to health and safe-sex commodities. Health and wellness commodities, such as menstrual products, condoms, and other essentials for women's health, are being sought by members of the student body, who are calling on the administration to set up Sexual Health and Wellness Vending Machines in the lobby of all on-campus housing.

Despite the fact that Student Health Services provides free condoms, students may not be able to take use of these services when they need them the most because of office hours, location, and price. Sexual Health and Wellness Vending Machines would make it easier for students, teachers, and staff to take care of their own bodies. 

To further preserve students' privacy, a vending machine for health and wellness will keep them anonymous and prevent billing through insurance, minimizing the load on Student Health Services resources as well as its staff. In addition, it would allow partners to more fairly share responsibility for obtaining health resources. 

Involvement from Coastal Carolina University is essential. To us, the petitioners from Coastal Carolina, the idea of a Sexual Health and Wellness Vending Machine is an urgent call to action.
