Below I have rebutted the Paramount/CBS Report Card viewership claim published by TV Line. Paramount uses their MP3 (multi platform 3 days), MP 7, and MP 35 viewership numbers to claim Matlock is doing much better than So Help Me Todd did last Spring. 
Here is what is being left out. 

• The name Matlock is already embedded into Facebook, Instagram and most likely other social media audience algorithms because of the original Matlock Television Series! This allows Paramount to gain a huge marketing advantage promoting Matlock.
• Both Marcia Gay Harden and Kathy Bates are available via the Facebook / Instagram marketing algorithms, but clearly every other marketing algorithm heavily favors Matlock simply because Paramount / CBS recycled an already known brand name.
• What is NOT embedded on Facebook and Instagram algorithms is, So Help Me Todd, Scott Prendergast, and Skylar Astin. This gives Matlock a huge marketing advantage to reach out to already existing Matlock fans at a very minimal cost when compared to Marketing for So Help Me Todd. It is shocking that Paramount / CBS did not ensure that both Facebook and Instagram algorithms would recognize Todd, Skylar Astin, and Scott Prendergast.
  
• Matlock premiered in the fall after CBS fans went a full year with only 10 new episodes from all of their regular programs. Series such as So Help Me Todd were repeatedly disrupted by March Madness and other events.
• CBS fans have been deprived of 5 of their Strike Honoring Scripted Television Series, So Help Me Todd, Blue Bloods, Bob Hearts Abishola, NCIS Hawaii, and CSI Vegas that were unfairly cancelled, and this has created both anger and resentment among many CBS fans towards Paramount/CBS Scripted Television, this has resulted in...
• Paramount relying on their International subscriber fan base to make up for the loss of CBS Fans STILL UPSET over the premature cancelling of 5 Strike Honoring, CBS Scripted Series, So Help Me Todd, Blue Bloods, Bob Hearts Abishola, NCIS Hawaii, and CSI Vegas.
• CBS fans have gone 2 years since there was a full schedule of CBS Scripted Fall Programming
• Paramount / CBS are comparing their heavily marketed 2024 Fall schedule with their poorly marketed 2024 Strike Shortened Winter Season. Todd did not even air the week prior to their 2nd season debut episode! Todd only aired 2 times in January of 2024, the month leading up to the Strike Shortened 2024 Winter Premiere.
• Paramount / CBS nefariously aired 3 first season Todd episodes during the second season of Todd, which meant those 3 airings could not be counted towards their 2nd Season MP ratings!
• Now lets factor in the very heavy marketing promotion of Matlock by Paramount/CBS, and which continues to be done for Matlock.
• If Paramount/CBS is spending at least twice as much money promoting Matlock as it did promoting So Help Me Todd; and
• If Paramount/CBS has the audacity to put prematurely canceled and Strike Honoring CBS series such as Bob Hearts Abishola and NCIS Hawaii, into full syndication, so Paramount/CBS can use additional revenue these cancelled and now syndicated Scripted Series now produce, to promote the new scripted series that line-jumped ahead of Abishola and NCIS Hawaii, then
• this becomes a Paramount cloud seeding imperfect storm for new, Scripted CBS Television Series after Paramount / CBS dumped 5 still growing in Popularity, Strike Honoring CBS Scripted Television Series; so their replacements can show higher ratings through more aggressive marketing with funds raised by the cancelled Television Series!

Who stands to gain from all the Paramount / CBS machinations to jubilantly tell the world their CBS viewership ratings ruse has been a success? Perhaps the Paramount Executives who now have golden parachute exit packages.

Please consider welcoming The Rookie, Will Trent, and High Potential in place of CBS on Tuesday Nights. The Rookie and Will Trent will be broadcasting 18 consecutive episodes with no reruns mixed in. Todd would have been a top 10 Series if their episodes had been broadcast in 10 episode chunks with no reruns in between the 10 episodes. High Potential would make an excellent companion Television Series with So Help Me Todd on the ABC schedule.
