The National Citizen’s Inquiry is holding hearings in Toronto Thursday March 30 through Saturday April 1, and streaming them at https://nationalcitizensinquiry.ca/nci-live/
Doctors and other experts, as well as everyday Canadians will be sharing their experiences of what happened to them as a result of the measures taken by government to limit Covid-19. The Inquiry is examining Canada’s response, and its results, and how Canada might respond to future similar events.
The legacy media, including the CBC, has by and large ignored this grassroots undertaking. As Canada’s national public broadcaster, CBC owes it to Canadians to report on these hearings not only as part of its mandate for relevant news, but because of their duty to reflect matters of interest to all Canadians.
The inquiry is hearing from a broad cross-section of Canadians that reflects who the CBC is supposed to be serving. Help us reach our next goal of 500 signatures and put pressure on CBC and the rest of the legacy media to report fairly on this major undertaking.
