CBC: Replace Rosemary Barton on Power and Politics
The Issue
Dear CBC Executive,
Enough is enough!
After years of watching CBC’s Power & Politics, our homes are moving to CTV’s Power Play.
Power & Politics will no longer be on in our homes until you permanently remove Rosemary Barton and every producer responsible for her shameful broadcasts.
.
After ten years of non-transparency between the Harper Government and 35 million Canadians, Election 2015 finally brought us the promise of a continued flow of timely information once again.
It is the media’s responsibility, always with unbiased objectivity, to be the vehicle between the government and its People.
Ironically, on Remembrance Day, the CBC chose to be biased against the new Trudeau administration, attacking him personally on an election promise which, just one week into a tsunami of issues, no decision has been announced.
Rosemary Barton crafted a still moot point into an issue against our Prime Minister, attacking Trudeau by first replaying a clip of one of his election promises to set up her biased onslaught.
In the clip, Trudeau announced he will reopen the nine closed Veteran Service bureaus.
How can an election promise be broken before any decision has been announced?
Trudeau’s new Minister did suggest earlier in the day that if any of these service bureaus could be re-located to locations that could BETTER serve Veterans, then such more optimum locations would be considered. Any sane person would view this as an election promise improved, not broken.
But no: Ms. Barton immediately twisted this option into a possible Trudeau broken election promise, went on the attack, fabricating a moot point into a senseless, wholesale attack, and compounded her ridiculous argument against Trudeau by using a panel to debate this idiocy weighted down with anti-Liberals.
Canadians deserve a honeymoon. After the Decade of Shame, this heinous attack demonstrates the CBC can’t wait to destroy its relationship with the new government at warp speed, just one week after our new government has been sworn in.
Babies are still washing up dead on beaches half a world away. In lieu of utilizing valuable air time to help Trudeau’s appeal to Canadians to craft humanitarian ways and means to stop this crisis, by helping his government with this Life & Death Crisis, you have chosen to attack him, in Harper style, just one week after he has been sworn in, on an issue he has not even announced.
Also know that this shameless attack on Trudeau's position on helping Veterans, (on Remembrance Day of all days!), is just the last straw after months of increasing frustration over Ms. Barton's ever-growing lack of objectivity.
Again, until such time as Rosemary Barton is removed and her producers are replaced, and Power & Politics reestablishes decency and objectivity, our homes are watching CTV’s Power Play.
Our taxes pay for these broadcasts and we deserve much better.
