ON THE NIGHT OF 23RD FEBRUARY 1943, 35 YOUNG CHILDREN AND ONE ELDERLY LADY DIED IN AN HORRIFIC FIRE AT ST JOSEPHS ORPHANAGE IN CAVAN TOWN.  THERE IS NO PERMANENT, VISIBLE MEMORIAL TO THESE TRAGIC VICTIMS OF ONE OF THE WORST TRAGEDY TO HAPPEN IN IRELAND.  THIS PETITION WILL BE PRESENTED TO SHOW THAT THE PEOPLE IN CAVAN FEEL ON THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS HORRIBLE TRAGEDY THAT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE THESE PEOPLE REMEMBERED WITH THE LOVE AND RESPECT THEY DESERVE.
