Dear Supporters, (Chinese translation below) On Thursday, December 11 the NYC Council will have its hearing for Resolution 0442 - Resolution calling upon the New York State Legislature to pass and the Governor to sign S.7738/ A.9979, to change the admissions criteria for New York City's Specialized High Schools. It is important that this resolution is not passed. We need action and a show of support that day. Press Conference: A press conference/rally will be held on the steps of City Hall at 10:am Sharp! And last until 11am CoalitionEdu leaders and members from all 5 boroughs will be in attendance along with the Coalition of all 9 Specialized High School Alumni Associations. Please come to support us and fill the steps of City Hall. Directions We will be at City Hall, NOT 250 Broadway. Testimony This is a public hearing. We will be testifying individually and we invite you to do so as well. If you plan to testify, register in the morning before 9:30 at the Council Chambers. Attend the press conference and then return to the chambers. You will have 3 minutes to speak. Please bring 20 copies printed on both sides to give to members of the council. Be prepared for a whole day event. Public testimony will be heard after the Council and the DOE, UFT and officials speak.
