Due to our misuse and abuse of pesticides we have decimated the Monarch Butterfly population. We are damaging our other beneficial pollinators such as the bee, bird, and dragonfly, with a Silent Spring in our near future. Our continued toxic applications may be catastrophic to our planet and our people. The most recognizable pollinator in North America, the Monarch Butterfly decreased population by ~97% of their average historic abundance, their numbers are fewer than 30,000. The most recent number, ~2,000 monarchs recorded in 2020. Their migration cycles are vital to their survival, and our food crops. Without them, our dreams will not catch flight.

Cass County Vector Control is directly responsible for the massacre of Monarch Butterfly populations traveling in August of 2020 in Fargo, North Dakota. Their delicate wings no more than leaf litter blowing in the wind..
