Based on the new signage at the range. The caliber and full auto restrictions are going to be permanent. Just to be clear, the caliber restrictions are "Firearms chambered in .50 BMG, 416 Barrett, 408 /375 Chey Tac, .338 Lapua or any round derived from the same or producing kinetic force equal to (or higher) are prohibited. Fully automatic weapons are only allowed in the reservable private bays by authorized users."
It is also important to note that the round that was found closest to the range was a .50 BMG and the round found farthest from the range was a 45 ACP!
Kinetic Energy
All moving things have kinetic energy. It is energy possessed by an object due to its motion or movement. These include very large things, like planets, and very small ones, like atoms. The heavier a thing is, and the faster it moves, the more kinetic energy it has.

I am sure that I have missed some calibers. This simple chart shows that not much thought was put into the caliber restrictions. That they are biased. A person that reloads can also take a normal round that is factory below the restricted calibers and make the ME and or MV higher. This further makes the restrictions put in place unenforceable and ridiculous.
As for the full auto restrictions, your entry level full autos normally cost around $20,000 plus you have to obtain a federal tax stamp and wait for around 6 months before you are confirmed or denied. The person that can afford this hobby is not usually the type that's going to be shooting like an untrained 18 year old.
I personally feel that this signage was a waste of grant money that could have been used better. Signs do nothing except create a target to shoot at. Ever drive a country road?
