MEETING TONIGHT @ 6pm

Tonight (August 6th, 2019) is the board meeting. It is being held in the old courthouse building at 6pm. 

You can read the official statement Carroll County put out on July 12th here. Please do not let this deter you from showing up. It is still important to let the Commissioners know how strongly Carroll County feels about this topic. Just because this may not turn out to be a possibility in Carroll County does not mean that it magically goes away. The Trump administration is still actively looking to put for-profit facilities in areas surrounding sanctuary cities (such as Atlanta). 

While I am glad to hear that Carroll County officials have made clear that they would not even support the possibility of this coming to Carroll County, I am afraid that their hearts are not in the right place, and we need to let them know that. This is about families being separated and children being kept in cages. It's not a matter of political affiliation, this is a matter of human decency.
