Please get informed about the Boundary Adjustments in CCPS. There is a meeting on Oct. 14, 2015 - Scheduled Board business meeting at 4:00 p.m. At the September 28 work session, the Board instructed the Superintendent and staff to present details of Option 3 at the October 14, 2015 Board meeting. They also asked for concepts for a potential Option 4 that would relocate East Middle School to be presented at this meeting. With the level of wealth in our county, there is no reason why a single school needs to close. Instead of figuring out a way to increase funding, whether that be modest property or sales tax increases, boosts to local businesses and tourism, or even governmental "fundraising", our commissioners have taken the politically expedient route of dumping the problem onto the BOE. Much to our dismay, the BOE has now pulled their own political move in setting all of our local schools against each other. It's time for us to push back, united as one. If you are a leader of one of the various "save our school" movements and agree with us, please let us know. Let's try to all meet together in the near future and come up with a united game plan.
