See attached for more information! All Parishioners and Friends, please join us in A Mass of Welcome and Thanksgiving. On Sunday, October 8, 2017, at 11:00 A.M, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, located at 94 Pine St. in the Fourth Ward of Montclair will be celebrating a Mass In Commemoration of the Establishment of the Sister-City Relationship of Montclair, New Jersey and Aquilonia (AV), Italy. The Honorable Mayor of Montclair, Robert Jackson, along with members of the Montclair Township Council will be accompanied by an official delegation from Aquilonia Italy. The Two Sister Cities are coming together in Celebration of Club Aquilonese San Vito Martire, one of the religious organizations of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church who for over 100 years has been welcoming immigrants from Italy to Montclair. In the last 30 years a dramatic change in the ethnic fibers of the Fourth Ward has put Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in the hearts of the ones most in need; immigrants, refugees and most importantly the children who need our help. There is so much we can do together to help the people of the Fourth Ward and surrounding communities. I would like to extend an invitation to everyone to join us with The Montclair Police Honor Guard, Knights of Columbus Honor Guard, and The Drums of Thunder Band and come together and stand united as we celebrate this Mass. We would like to say a special “thank you” to Father Sam as Sister City Committee member and Master of Ceremonies for this Mass and Our Community Outreach Program members.
