GREAT NEWS FOR WE THE PARISHIONERS OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL, PARISH OF ST. TERESA OF CALCUTTA

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE PARISHIONERS TO WORK TOGETHER TO FILL OUR PEWS OF OUR CHURCH!!! We all look forward to working with Father Benny Prado, Administrator of the parish of St.Teresa of Calcutta. To all Parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish: I feel a new beginning is arriving for all of us with the recent changes made by His Eminence Cardinal Tobin, Archbishop of Newark. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church has a future. Our task all along was to save our beloved Church and I think we have. We will exist as Saint Teresa Of Calcutta Parish and we will still worship at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. We have been given a reprieve and now it is up to each and every one of us that fought the battle to keep our beloved Church open and to continue on. We became too complacent; we went about our daily lives like nothing was going to change and it did. The Church our parents and grandparents fought so hard to establish was almost taken away from us. Although there were always a few who always worked hard for the church it just wasn’t enough. We all must take the time to help our Church. If you are not registered at the Church please do so as soon as possible, we will send out forms. If you haven’t volunteered to help at the Church, offer to volunteer. If you haven’t given to the Church in the past please do so even if it is only a small amount. Every little bit helps. Most importantly we must fill the pews each week if we are to stay open. Make sure you attend Mass regularly. Lest we never forget the most important reason for our beautiful church – it is to honor our beloved Lord by celebrating the sacrifice of the Mass. Although we are not a large parish, I am sure Father Prado will guide us in bringing in new parishioners to grow our church but we as the body of the church must help him and give him our full support in both time and effort as he cannot do this alone. This is the true test of our sincerity to see how much we really want to keep our church open. I’m sure as the body of the church we can meet this great challenge.
