July 4 thank you

Your participation in the parade has brought awareness to Archbishop Meyers and his decision to close Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He is aware now that we are not going away! Along the parade route people were clapping and extremely enthusiastic and shouting to us, “Fight to keep your church open!" People from different religions and backgrounds were supportive and wanting to know more about what was happening to our church. We now have hundreds of additional signatures of people who signed our SAVEOLMC petition!! It takes a team to make this happen and the OLMC Committee would like to express a very special "THANK YOU" to Angela and Anthony Socio and their wonderful family. They provided us with the most amazing float for the parade! The float was large enough to allow our oldest parishioners down to our youngest to be seen and heard! We appreciate those who were able to attend the parade and show support by wearing your SaveOLMC T-Shirts and holding SaveOLMC signs and distributing handouts along the parade route. We are grateful to all who have shared information received from the press, Facebook, twitter, email, change.org and our handouts. That has been an enormous success!! Our church's rich history, sense of home and our OLMC family have brought us even closer together. Everyone has donated their time and resources to make this happen! Thank you! Let’s keep the momentum and continue onto our next step: The Rally at the Archdiocese in Newark on Sunday, July 10th at 9:00am. We are asking you to please share all information provided; we need your continued support and cannot succeed in the fight to keep Our Lady of Mount Carmel open without your help!
