Save Howard Gardens from developers
This petition had 484 supporters
Cardiff Council has sold Howard Gardens in Adamsdown to developers. Now Crosslane want to build a 10 storey building there to house 400 students (you can view the proposals at www.crosslanegroup.com/howardgardens).
Developers like student accommodation because it doesn’t have to reach the same standards as other housing, so it is much cheaper to build. But we don’t think this area of Adamsdown needs any more student accommodation.
Howard Gardens is one of Adamsdown’s few open spaces. We would like to see Howard Gardens made into a green space for the community, using the S.106 money that the Council has for just this purpose.
We call on Cardiff Council:
- To put the interests of Adamsdown residents first
- To block the proposed Crosslane development at the Howard Gardens site
- To develop Howard Gardens into a green space for the benefit of the local community
